You Can Change The World While Sitting on Your Couch – Would You Like to learn More?
Our federal office holders have spent nearly two years locked up in arguments, trading insults and accusations, while the nation struggles to climb out of this recession. It is time for them, regardless of political affiliation, to get back to work. We, The People, need them. Out Ship of State is Sinking.
A major election is coming. office holders will respond to the demands of their constituency If, and the word is IF, they think enough people want the same thing.
A few things our leaders could do that would improve our financial condition are:
Stimulate the banks to loosen credit for businesses and farmers.
Negotiate and pass a realistic Jobs Bill; give tax incentives to companies that create new jobs.
Create an incentive package for large corporations that bring overseas jobs back to the US.
Equalize all Foreign Trade Agreements so we can trade freely, without restriction, with Countries that have unlimited access to our markets. Levy tariffs on those that do not agree, no matter how large they are. Our Balance of Trade is ridiculously out of balance and the interest on the debit is killing our economy.
This is not everything we need, but these changes would help US greatly. The important thing is to let Your Voice Be Heard!
I have placed a short generic form letter in the Table of Contents to the right. It is titled titled "Change the World". The demands are those listed above and should be worth consideration by all political parties. The important thing is to get our representatives to stop arguing and return to work. I think all of US want that. The Link to the letter is on the Blog’s Sidebar titled; Change The World Letter. Copy the text, add the names and addresses of your representatives, add your name and mail or email.
Also on the Sidebar of my Blog is a link to a website (Washington Post) that will identify your particular representatives and enable you to check their voting records. It is important for you to know what they are voting on.
It should not take ten minutes of your time to mail your congressional representative and state senator. If enough of you do this, you will change our world while you are sitting on your couch.
We need large numbers to effect their thinking. If you want to get involved with this project, you must also refer all of your contacts to this Blog; retweet or stumble it. If you are too young to vote, get your parents involved, make it a school or church project. The worst thing we can do is nothing; that's been done.
It would also help if you left comments or requests for more specific letters on the Blog. I will do what I can to accommodate the majority.
